Random Note

By the way, the best thing I did was blog a few little things about the pregnancy, and write up our birth story.  I love reading them.  I love thinking about how I sat here typing, Grady safely ensconced in my belly, not knowing what was going to happen or what he would look like or how being a mommy would feel.

I had no idea.  It's funny to look back at my silliness.  I imagine I'll say the same thing about the sleep posts, or anything else I've posted since.

Like these two for instance HERE and HERE.  I remember what I was feeling when I wrote those, and those posts are so tame compared to what I really wanted to write.  That I wasn't sure I could do this, that maybe the whole thing had been a mistake.  It's so amazing how much your life can change in 3 months.   I can say now, that I can do this.  And it was most definitely, not a mistake.  Grady is the greatest thing ever.  And he's the smartest person to ever be born so how could I deprive the world of that? Those early experiences had value, and I think I will always remember that the first two weeks home, either from the newness of it or the hormones, were really, really hard.

Our road to get here wasn't easy.  It wasn't all that hard either, but it wasn't easy.  There were many tears.  Lewis used to tell me that our baby was holding on.  He wasn't ready.  He was waiting for the perfect time, and then he'd come.  But that's a post for a later date.  August 17th, to be exact.
