Tennessee Flood

The pictures are harrowing.  27 people have died.  The Grand Ole Opry has been destroyed.  The damage is estimated to be at $1B.  It's an untold disaster.  And there is more rain scheduled for Monday.

The Gulf oil spill and the NY attempted bombing have pushed this out of the news.  But this is really, a huge tragedy.  And you aren't hearing people screaming about lack of government response or anything like that.  Maybe they are screaming but the news isn't reporting it.  I'm sure those who have lost their homes, their jobs, and their loved ones are screaming.

It's just devestating.  There are so many videos on youtube, just do a search and look at some of these pictures.  I used to live near here.  When my parents met Lewis's parents for the first time we went to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel to see the beautiful decorations.  That beautiful hotel, is now under water.  I have pictures from our visit there, but it was before my digital camera.  I'll need to make sure those get scanned in.

They are now historically relevant.

Watch the below video.  There are pictures from the Opryland hotel near the end.  It's just so tragic.  This is the biggest non-hurricane disaster in American history.  The images are reminiscent of Katrina.

Nashville needs your thoughts and prayers.

We use to live in Nashville and I have definitely been following this. I have family all thru TN and friends all thru the area - the stories they are telling are unbelievable. My sister-in-law Brenda is on a temp. assignment in HAWAII and not sure if she has a home to return to in TN.
