Showered Baby

This weekend my very good friend threw a baby shower for me.  I am now officially, showered.  I have been so very, very blessed.  I can not believe the kindness and generosity of our friends and family.  It's awe inspiring and humbling.  The shower was wonderful, with great good, great friends and I literally had people travel from all over to attend it.  Mom came in from California, Megan (and husband in tow) from Kentucky, Brian from Lubbock, my aunt and cousin and kid cousin (can't call her baby cousin anymore, huh?) drove down from Kansas, my brother and sister-in-law and their children came up from Houston ... and my good friend from high school made the drive from Oklahoma.

The lengths to which people go ... it really just amazes me.

The hostess recorded Lewis answering baby questions (what's the soft spot? when does a baby first smile? etc) and he did pretty good!  I failed at guessing his answers.  And then at the end he started talking about how excited he was and I'm pretty sure all the women in my family started tearing up and I turned bright red trying not to embarrass myself infront of our friends.

It was really sweet.  He even promised to help some.  :)

It was really just a great weekend.  Obviously with so many out of town guests we ran around a lot and tried to accomplish a lot.  Mom bought me a sewing machine.  Which I love.  I've made three blankets already for the baby.  Just simple things, to practice keeping the stitches straight before I tackle the curtain I'm making for the baby's room.

In two weeks I'll be full term, and it could be any day.  I have all of these wonderful baby supplies and a stocked nursery that's all set and ready.  I can not believe it's gotten so close.  I have not "enjoyed" being pregnant, per say.  But it has truly been an easy pregnancy and I'm so grateful for that and I hope that baby H is healthy and that's all I want in the whole world.  A healthy baby H.

I'd also like to go to my grandmother's 90th birthday party.  But that might be pushing it.  We'll see what the doc says on the 22nd.

Thank you so much for coming! It was great to see you. If I don't get up to OKC we will plan a trip to D.C. Kid will need some educating on the legislative process and our founding fathers anyway, right? ;)
