Sad Day in Raiderland
I am so raging mad right now. Gerald Myers fired Coach Mike Leach today. For letting a punk kid, that everyone universally acknowledges is a punk kid, stand in an air conditioned equipment room that is routinely used by wide receivers for breaks. He had to stand for 3 hours, and was under constant supervision. He was never in danger, he was never at risk of further injuring himself, he was provided water and was therefore properly hydrated. The kid is a lazy, punk kid, that no one but Leach wanted to recruit at Tech to begin with.
A decision, I'm sure he regrets today.
But Myers, if you are out there reading this, if some little PR flack is searching the webs for your name ... hear this ...
I am a proud Texas Tech alum, who has given my time, my money, and my energy to the Texas Tech school. Most notably, our football program. Today, I really want to take it all back.
Do you think last year's win against Texas would have been possible under any other coach but Leach!?! NO. Do you think last year's 11-2 season would have been possible under any other coach but Leach?!? NO. Mike Leach gave Texas Tech their football program. He built it, from nothing, and took us from a mediocre team that had losing seasons and didn't get bowl games, to a team that was ranked #2 last year, nationally, and in the National Championship converation.
Did Spike Dykes do that?!? NO. Dykes couldn't recruit his hand out of his pocket let alone any talent to Tech. Leach took us to bowl games every year. We didn't win every year. But we won high profile games in major fashion ... like the Holiday Bowl in 2006.
I am ashamed and sad to be a Red Raider right now. ASHAMED. And I want some heads. Lots of heads. On platters. I want Adam James removed from my university IMMEDIATELY. Transfer him to Waco, SMU, I don't care where get him off my schools property. I want Craig James fired from ESPN. The guy is crooked as the day is long and if they can fire Coach Leach over this crap than surely they can get rid of that guy who took bribes while in college and almost single handedly got SMU the "death penalty."
And way to go Daddy James ... the world now knows that your kid is a whiny little brat with no talent who can't play with the big boys. Hope he does well. AT ANOTHER SCHOOL.
Myers - if you did this to save $800k in bonus money you owed Leach ... I will drive to Lubbock and stand outside your door and yell at you for a very long time. I'm already beginning my letter writing campaign. I will send you the same letter every day:
UGH. And the stadium enhancements! Oh my gosh the new stadium! The expanded seating, the bigger student section, the larger alumni pavillion. ALL OF THAT MIKE LEACH BUILT. What are the idiots in admin thinking?
I want Myers gone. FIRED. NOW. I want the students to rebel. I want the players to rebel. MUTINY PIRATES! I call for Mutiny. Our Captain is being shanghaied. Will we stand for this?

Dear Gerald Myers,
I want Leach back. Why are you sending us back to the football stone ages? Mike Leach graduates more football players than any other school in the Big 12, and was #8 in the nation last year behind schools like Notre Dame, Stanford, etc. Texas was #62 with a 50% graduation rate. Mike Leach won more games and brought more money to the school than you ever will.
So - please bring him back, and show yourself the door. Thank you, I despise you, please get off my school!
