Christmas 2009
We traveled to Steven's Point, Wisconsin for our Christmas festivities, and enjoyed a beautiful white Christmas with Lewis's family. My sister-in-law and I talked about it, and it was the first time all three siblings (who were raised together) and their respective families had gotten together since Lewis and I got married. Blessedly, the boys get together every year for their brother's trip, but I had not seen Jason in eons!
The snow was pretty, and they got several inches in the days before we arrived (which made O'Hare fun on Wednesday night, let me tell you!). We took a sleigh ride through some forest on Christmas Eve, played lots of board games, ate lots of yummy food, and really just spent most of our time visiting and catching up. When you don't get to see folks often, really that's all you want to do.
We even managed to have a video conference with my parents on Christmas day, so we could watch Dad and Mom open the gifts we got them.
We went sledding the day after Christmas, and the kids loved that. Hannah is three and absolutely fearless. She refused to go down with an adult and wanted to ride by herself. I thought she'd fly off the sled and we'd have a snowy, scared, screaming child on our hands. But not Hannah.
We had a terrific time thanks in large part to the lovely hosts, Lewis's parents. It was really wonderful to see everyone and spend time with everyone. We are blessed all around with great family.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope this week leads to a fun (and safe!) New Year's!
