The War on Fox News
As opposed to the war in Afghanistan, or the war in Iraq, two actual wars that deserve real coverage. Instead we get the White House sending out it's goons, excuse me, officials or what have you, to the Sunday Shows bashing Fox News as not even a network.
Forgive me, but have you seen the ratings? The American people disagree with you.
And the other stations haven't taken the bait either. They have not distanced themselves from Fox (any more than they usually do) and they haven't kicked them out of the White House Press Pool. Perhaps they know that administrations turn quickly, and are fickle, and that they could be on the bad list too?
But meanwhile, the war in Afghanistan rages on. And the President sits idly by not making decisions. According to the Times UK it's been 76 days since General McChrystal asked President Obama for more troops. I don't know what the right answer there is, but I know that inaction leads to danger for the men and women over there, and I won't tolerate that. That coupled with information out last week that Congress has diverted money already set aside for troops to pet projects, including Senator Kennedy's library, confirms to me that this administration and Congress care not one lick about the men and women over there, and do not care at all about their mission.
Stop bickering with the American press and work on the real wars, please. And don't half do it. If you want them to lose, bring them home. Don't leave half a force there and blame them when it doesn't work. If you want them to win, give them the tools to do it.

"While there is undoubtedly a visceral thrill in finally setting out after your antagonists, the history of administrations that have successfully taken on the media and won is shorter than this sentence," Carr wrote over the weekend. "So far, the only winner in this latest dispute seems to be Fox News. Ratings are up 20 percent this year."
