A Tisket, a Tasket
I couldn't think of a clever title for my roundup today.
- I can't believe people are encouraging their kids to be truant because of President Obama's speech next week. I don't like the guys politics either but if he can reach one kid and encourage that one kid to stay in school ... that's awesome.
- 6.9 million jobs lost since 2007. That number is like a punch in the stomach. I know I'm young and I'll go through more of these "down turns" but I just don't know how you come back from something like this.
- LOVE that football's back. Thank goodness. It's like my social life is back. :) Wreck 'Em Tech! And um ... Crabtree ... sign the contract. You look foolish.
- Rangel ... you are on the Ways and Means Committee and you've lied about your income for years. You owe so many back taxes it's not even funny. Leave. Now. And Ethics investigators? Maybe do your jobs.
- My brother is coming to visit from Lubbock for the weekend. He doesn't know it yet, but we're putting him to work in the yard.
- Rennovations on the condo are wrapping up today and tomorrow. Parents should have it on the market soon and the Ohio chapter of the E** story will close. Until my parents move back there. Which now that they're selling the condo will by like next month. Because that's the story of our lives. Point of Note - my mom hasn't slept in her own bed in like a month. And even then she was only there a week and she was gone like a month before that. My parent's house is really just where the bills get sent and where the dog dishes are. They are never there.
- Going to see Mary Poppins on the 26th of September!
- Going to the Cowboys home opener against the Giants on September 20th! That TV screen is sick. But I can't wait to see the monstrosity. I know we all complain (especially the folks in Arlington) but the revenue it's going to bring in to that area is just astronomical. Especially if Jerry is successful at bringing things like the Olympics down here. They're are already so many new hotels / restaurants in that area.
- Actually - we are so busy this fall it's not funny. We have some free weekends in September but towards the end of the month, it's back to back to back again. Busy. It's good to be busy. But I kind of enjoyed the August slow down of not traveling. Except we did go to Houston.
- Not sure what Tech game we're going to make it to. :( Depressing. But Tech plays North Dakota or something Saturday? It's only on the radio, which tells you something. We'll see how the defense does. Offense will put up 60 points, per usual. But what about the D? We shall see.
