Around
Cowboys ... oh Cowboys. You make me nervous. Romo is inconsistent. At worst he's AWFUL. At best he's really good. I can't give him much more credit than that. I get irritated with him because in interviews he's always "aww schucks we lost, we'll get 'em next time." In the beginning it was endearing, but last year ... it was just annoying. And when he was out 4 games (or was it five?) with that stupid pinky injury I wanted to throw something at him.
Anyway. Our fantasy football league is called "Stacy Hates Romo." I'm not very patient with him. I used to love him. I drafted him as my QB for two years. This year I took Peyton Manning. I no longer trust Romo.
Irregardless. Not what I wanted to talk about this morning.
I'm excited about the Tea Party March in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. The tally of how many people is inconsistent but most are reporting 1.5M now. Of course, those people don't represent this country. And they are just fringe crazies. Naturally. It was a big turnout. DC police were shocked. As was Congress.
We'll see what the end result is. Snowe is saying that a government option won't pass the Senate. Would that it were so.
The Friday night news dump from the White House was interesting, if you saw it. President Obama is practicing protectionism and is raising tarrifs on Chinese tires that come into this country. This at the benefit of ... you guessed it ... a Union. This one, the United Steel Workers Union. But other groups are lined up (read the article) to get the same rule applied to their goods. And China is livid.
Another gem in the news dump ... The Census Bureau is severing all ties with ACORN after it the investigative report that found ACORN workers were advising on how to file a tax return for income that was garnered through illegal means.
And then, again in the dump, The White House provided clarification on the President's remarks last week about health care and illegal immigration. In which the bullet points state, yeah they aren't supposed to qualify for coverage, but they are still covered at the hospitals by government funds.
Next weekend we're going to the Giants / Cowboys game. But ... bigger than that. Texas Tech plays Texas in Austin on the 19th. Ohhhhh makes me so, so, so nervous. WRECK 'EM TECH! I BELIEVE!
