Memo

Dear Readers ...

I have a new job (same office, different responsibilities, new title, lateral move) and as such I'm much busier here so therefore ... probably fewer and fewer postings.  Which is a good thing.

But ... I have not forgotten you.

We have been busy.  We bought a car last night.  A used Acura with 30K+ miles, 2007.  It's nice.  Much nicer than anything I've ever owned.  It almost feels like it can't be mine ... but somehow, it is.  Now we have to get the old car back to my parents in California because nothing in my life or my family's life can ever be simple.

For those interested, my Congressman is having a townhall meeting on Saturday, at 10:00AM.  Email me for details if you want to go.  I will be there, probably mostly listening, and just to see how this whole "being involved" at the local level goes and what it's all about.  I imagine the conversation will focus mostly on health care, but we'll see.  Should be interesting regardless.  I need to figure out if this guy is someone I can support or if he's just another Congressional muckity muck that needs the boot.

I'm so glad those journalists are home safely.  I'm so happy for their families and I don't know what President Clinton had to do (hopefully nothing except stand there for that photo op - Jong Il looks happier than a pig in mud and Clinton looks like he has indigestion - at least in the photo I saw) but I'm just so glad those girls are home.  Happy news to report!  It's so fun to have such good news.

I'm deeply sad about the tragedy in Pittsburgh and the "recluse" that felt he couldn't have relationships and therefore his response to that was to murder four people and injure countless others.  Oh brother-in-law of the theological variety ... the man's website claims that he thought / thinks he is in heaven with Jesus now.  Can that be possible?  Makes me think Romans 6:23, surely his sin would ... but I don't know.  Our God is merciful ... so I just don't know.

Wow that breaks my heart on so many levels.

Shout out to my friends in OKC who had a BEAUTIFUL baby boy yesterday!  A big Thank You Lord for the safe delivery of the little tyke, whom I can't wait to meet.  The world is full of blessings ... even when there is sorrow.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
