Mr. President, The Phone's Ringing

Japan warns that North Korea may fire missile at U.S. on Independence Day

That insane buzzing you here is the most insane dictator on the planet flapping his wings in evil delight as he tries to exude some muscle to get what he wants.

The problem?  We are perceived as weak.  If he does launch missiles that don't go anywhere, he knows we won't do anything.  He's still made his point, we still look like weak, but Hawaii is safe so I guess that's a good thing.

But what about the one time that his missiles make it?  Can we take that risk?  And, if as Gates has ordered missile interceptors to the Island ...

Oh dear heaven I just realized we have a bunch of friends in Hawaii for a wedding.  Pray the idiot dictator doesn't ruin their plans or cause harm or hurt them and they all get home safely and with beautiful pictures and wonderful memories.

Anyway ... keep those folks in your prayers ... I know the common sense and smart people are going, "Psh, that guy doesn't have missiles that can reach that far."  And you know, I believe that.  Sort of.  Won't stop me from asking my dad though.

But um ... in reality ... this is a very open threat.  Because this is an open threat to the United States, that makes North Korea more than just China's problem, doesn't it?
