Personally Speaking

So one of the main things I do here is work with an organization in Dallas that serves the homeless community.  I don't talk about work here, but for this I'm making an exception.

Last year, Dallas opened The Bridge, a new homeless assistance center that's goal is to help people get off the street, into permanent supportive housing, or a host of other options like mental health facilities, job programs, etc.

Today, we are going downtown to serve the homeless at the Bridge and to thank the staff of the Bridge for the tremendous work they do every day.  The homeless assistance center has been open for one year this month, and it's been a terrific year for them.  They really are making a huge difference in our community here and the hard work is paying off.  I'm really glad to be as close a part of this as I have been, and I can't take any credit for the success they've had but I'd like to say I've supported them in their efforts.

Now here's to a smooth event this afternoon!
