More on the coming taxes and Cap and Trade.
Read the rest. That MIT professor that originally claimed that the cost per family for Cap and Trade would be $230 something is now estimating that, all in, the cost could be upwards of $4000. This includes the cost for families to buy new cars, find new energy providers, etc.
Gov. Jennifer Granholm (D-Michigan) is having a meeting at the White House today. She's on the short list for the empty SCOTUS seat. I don't like legislatures as judiciaries. It ... sits wrong. It sits doubly wrong that she's the Governor of a dying state. She inherited lots of those problems but she's done little to fix them. I just don't see lots of successes in her resume. But maybe I'm reading the wrong version.
And, like other nominees, she has lots of tax problems and was accused of cronyism in her first Gubernatorial campaign. So I guess she'll have to have satisfying answers to those concerns before her name is offered up.
There is no way around it, unless we want to talk about deficits in the tens of trillions of dollars. Obama has not even begun to broach the topic of entitlements, which are only growing as well. Do you realize that in the next decade, with retirement of the baby boom generation, the number of people on Social Security and Medicare will DOUBLE! So ultimately, those of you in the middle class that thought you were exempt, well, welcome to the party.
