At The Movies

I love, love, love summer movies.  They are my all time favorites.  I tend to think that the only movies worth paying $10 a ticket for and seeing on a big screen with a loud sound system are summer blockbusters.  Everything else will probably be just as enjoyable from my home theater.

But Jurassic Park not larger than life?  Iron Man without mega watts behind the music?  Harry Potter without Imax details?  I think not!

This year is going to be a good year for summer movies.  It started with Wolverine last week.  Which I really liked.  It was better than the X-Men: The Last Stand.  Anything that needlessly kills Patrick Stewart is no favorite of mine.  Which leads us into ...

Star Trek!  Yippie, Yippie!  I'm giddie with excitement over this one.  Ever since the first teaser trailer with a young Captain Kirk driving a fast car in the desert and jumping out of it before it crashes over a cliff.  I've been hooked.  We're seeing it this weekend with friends in Denver.

Then May 21st we have Terminator.  Which honestly I'm not into.  But I've adored Christian Bale (love, love Batman) ever since Little Women.  And my husband is a Terminator kind of guy so I'll probably see this one too.  That same weekend is Night at the Museum 2.  I wish my neices and nephews lived closer cause I'd make them go see this with me!

But end of June, early July, things start to get Really, Really good.

Transformers (oh yeah!) June 24th and Harry Potter HBP on July 15th.  I may have to a Harry Potter themed bachelorette for Megan.

I thought there was one more but I guess not ... so if you're looking for me this summer ... I'm probably at the movies!

Star Trek is a must see. Saw it last night and was blown away. It is really, really well done.
