Stacy- you do have to give the CNN gal credit. She hung around for a little while and talked with the crowd. While it may not have been on camera I think it is pretty amazing that she continued to dialog with the crowd. She still seemed pretty agenda-focussed though. Also, I liked what Jon Stewart did with the networks coverage of the TEA parties. Comparing FoxNews to CNN of old. CNN to FoxNews (using the interview clip) and then showing MSNBC making a ton of jokes about tea baggers. I do think he has a point with Fox calling the Tea protests patriotic while ridiculing any other liberal protest as ridiculous. I guess PBS is the best place for fair and balanced news...
Where was she gonna go? She was surrounded by people who were like, "wait, were are you going?"
I'm mostly upset about the sexually explicit humor. The only thing that wasn't famly friendly was CNN's jokes.
Don't get me started on Jon Stewart. He and Colbert perpetuate the lie that these were not just ordinary people but were people organized by some large corporation who paid for it all. Which is completely bogus.
The only difference between these events and war protests or immigration protests is that these events had to happen after 5:00PM because the participants had to WORK.
Sorry, no credit to the CNN woman for being a biased idiot on camera when she could use it to intimidate, and a normal person when it was gone.

I think the vast majority of tv types would walk to the van and hide out until the next live shot. As for the myth that all the TEA parties were setup by Fox. Well that is obviously not true. But they did a lot of helping the cause both on their network and with their personalities on talk radio. Do I think the Dallas or Houston rally were bought and paid for by Fox, no. Does that mean that Fox was not strongly in favor of them because their political agenda was being promoted, no.
the tea parties have been going on way longer than the fox coverage began. the atlanta rally was planned long before Sean Hannity got involved. So while yes, I agree that the colunists on fox news talked about the tea parties on air, it wasn't until they gained traction with the public and people started RSVPing that they would attend that they were like, oh hey, these things might actually be happening.
What i don't understand, is why everyone readily agrees / accepts that Fox is biased right wing, but gets involved in debates like this one, when anyone questions the bias of CNN.
I fully believe that after she got out of her conversation with that woman, she went and hid in the trailer or went home. She just couldn't get out of there before the people started talking to her.
No credit. The woman is a joke of a journalist and needs to be sent packing.

I'm not involved enough with the coverage or defense of CNN and any perceived bias. I'll say this: Is CNN biased, sure, but they appear moderate when compared to MSNBC on the left and Fox on the right. I suppose on a scale MSNBC is a 0 (to the left) and Fox is a 10 (to the right) with CNN being a 3 or 4 (left-leaning). The reality is no one on Fox is a liberal (Colmes is gone, and no one else fills that void). Likewise I don't know of anyone at MSNBC on the right (though I could be wrong, because I think Scarborough is). CNN gives a full slot to a right leaning guy like Dobbs. They appear more fair and balanced. Why do you have me defending CNN? I get my news from Colbert and Stewart (my right and left leaning sources - no one as fair and balanced)!
