Wisteria

I either did something really right, or really wrong, I can't decide which.  I'm leaning towards right after a quick google search.
In previous years, my incredibly aggressive, very bushy wisteria plant was very leafy green with limited blooms.  This year, probably because I hacked it back into oblivion late last summer, I have more blooms than I've ever seen!
And they smell, delicious.  Okay maybe not delicious.  But they do smell wonderful.  We're still working on training it away from the house.  But the thing is practically a weed for how agressive it is.  I was asking Lewis if he thought I'd killed it when I hacked it all back and he laughed at me.  He doesn't seem to think the aggressive plant can ever be killed (insert evil laugh of wisteria plant HERE).

When we bought our house in McKinney, it had been vacant for about 3 years, and there was a wisteria plant planted by the front porch with the porch support for it to climb. Well, after 3 years of negelect - the thing had taken over the entire front of the house and even sent vines into a small crack and was growing in the attic. I cut it back to the main stalk, pulled at least 40 foot long vines out, and the next spring was rewarded with the most beautiful blooms. Do not be afraid - take your shears and cut away - don't cut it after August or you will get no blooms the next Spring.
