Ready to Throw Some Tea

On April 15th there are Nationwide Tea Parties.  Click your state and find out more information about "parties" in your area.

The one in Dallas is taking place at Dallas City Hall from 4:30-8:00PM.  http://dallasteaparty.org/  If you're in the area or are interested in speaking out against the ridiclous and superfluous "bailouts" that are only going to increase the tax burden on our children and grandchildren, please attend.

I've mentioned before that the Federal Government does not know where the billions in bailout money they've doled out has even gone.  I've been talking about how bad these bailouts have been since November.  And just to refresh your memory, President Bush signed the first bailout for $700B in October (which ended up being $850B).  President Obama signed the second for $787B.

But that doesn't include the other bailouts (or the $410B omnibus spending bill).  The $20B for Bank of America (Jan 15 - nighttime deal).  $85B to AIG (Sept 16th - nighttime deal). Fannie / Freddie take over in July, which equals as much as $5T in debt for American Taxpayers and at least $1.5T (July 14).  $2.7B to stop Foreclosures, with $300B in Federal Insurance to add a safety net to mortgages (May 8).  $236M to JPMorgan Chase to purchase BearStearns (Mar 16 - a year ago today - a weekend deal).  $150B stimulus to help encourage consumer spending and stave off the recession (Feb 7 - this is when we all got checks).

The worst part of all that?  None of it did a thing.  We called the Monday after the Bear Stearns announcement Black Monday in several circles because the stocks took a dive.  But it was nothing like the sell off on September 29th when $1.2T just disappeared.  And foreclosures have increased, consumer confidence has stalled, we've lost 2.6M jobs in 2008 and 598,000 in January alone.  What did all that money do?  Provide bonuses for AIG and securities traders I guess.  It certainly didn't help Main Street.

And I'm tired of the double talk.  I'm tired of a President that ran on curbing earmark spending but signs an omnibus pill that has 9,000 pet projects in it.  I'm tired of Congress getting 10% budget increases while the rest of us worry.  I'm tired of my country being owned by China and foreign investors.

All Congress and two Presidents have done is throw good, imaginary money after bad.  And none of the spending seems to be ending.  And I'm sick of it.  It's my tax dollars, it's my hours spent at the office, it's my time.  I want to build roads and help people and come up with real solutions, none of the clowns in office are capable of doing that.  They just run around yelling the sky is falling and then throw another $1T we don't have at a problem that was caused by greed and consumption and materialism anyway.

No one said the American dream of owning a home was easy.  And it was never outlined as a right of citizenship.  When people came to this country, they had to find their own shelter, and usually that meant building it with their own two hands.  Congress needs to quit passing out our money like it's theirs to distribute to banks, corporations, or those that made stupid decisions.

And now the White House worries about voter backlash????  You're kidding me right?  Tea Parties have been going on for weeks and are growing.  And last weekend Cincinatti had 5,000 people at their event.  Soon the MSM will have to start covering these (Cincy already had to).

The coming tax hike to pay for these failed stimuluses, bailouts, and meltdowns does not have my approval.  I didn't want those bailotus in the first place.  I'm throwing some tea.  It may not stop the tax increases, but it may get some attention and get some of these ridiculous leaders tossed out of office.
