Seven Pounds ...
Seven Pounds stars Will Smith and was so vague in the commercial trailers that I've kind of been itching to know what it's about. But not to see it. Does that happen to you? That happens to me, usually with horror movies, and I end up at Movie Spoilers dot com. Here you will find a plethora of movie spoilers that explain what happens to who, and when. I won't spoil Seven Pounds for you, but if you're curious what that flick was about, go read the spoiler.
And then tell me what you think. My first reaction? Eww. And judging by the reviews the movies getting (27% at Rotten Tomatoes) I'm not the only one. But the funniest review I've read is this one from EURweb
I also love it when really sick people are healthy and beautiful, it's like when Julia Roberts puts on a short blond wig and is suddenly a call girl. Or Katherine Heigl is a brunette and therefore less attractive than her blond (model) sister.
Anyway, happy go lucky story about love and dogs (Marley and Me) rakes in the money, sad depressing tails about Nazi Germany and depressed guilty people bomb. Who would have thought it?

This time of the year is the perfect time to release a relentlessly-depressing drama about a suicidal widower wracked with guilt over killing his wife in a car accident in which he was fiddling with his Blackberry while driving. Not.Really ... what were they thinking? Another funny quote ...
The only reason this transparent film takes two hours instead of two minutes is that Ben must go to great lengths to make sure his beneficiaries are worthy of his blessing. Another fly in the ointment is the seemingly-inappropriate romance which unexpectedly blossoms between him and Emily (Rosario Dawson), the sexiest, terminal heart patient in the history of cinema.I don't really like the whole idea of the philanthropist deciding who is worthy. He can't know who is worthy because he shouldn't be judging that in the first place. True philanthropy would be seeing a need in a person (regardless if they are good or bad) and fixing it. Right? I dunno, maybe not ... I just think we as humans can't judge who is worthy of anything. I certainly wouldn't be qualified. Nor would I want to be judged.
