Our One Loss

This post won't be long because it's 9 am and I'm still sad.  Trust me I will get over it.  But I wanted to lay down some thoughts.

Our team did not do the things I said had to happen in order for us to win.  Chief among them, we didn't play.  We didn't play like we wanted it.  We didn't play like we even knew what "it" looked like.  Pathetic. Worse than pathetic.  Devastating to a season that could have been - should have been - program altering.

Our defense did not make any stops or turnovers.  And our offensive line was alone protecting Graham.  And Graham couldn't find an open receiver.

It was a disappointing loss that dashes our national title hopes and creates a three way tie with Oklahoma and Texas.  Unless OU loses next week (which I highly doubt) we are out of the running.  But we still sort of control Oklahoma's destiny.

If we drop Baylor next week, there is no tie, and Texas goes to the Big 12 title.

Either way, it's a huge loss.  And it makes me sad.  But 10 - 1 is still a terrific season by any stretch of the imagination.  And that puts us in the Holiday or Cotton Bowl.  Which is still respectable.  And our team deserves mad props for getting us where we are.

But we aren't where we could have been.
