Catch Up

Let's play catch up.  When Dad was here two weeks ago, he and Lewis hung the blinds in the formerly empty room which will now be our dining room and he helped with my headboard project.  My headboard project is really my project to make the spare bedroom more habitable since we are having guests at Christmas.  I bought the fabric for the headboard, curtains, and when Dad was here I got the headboard finished.  Shown above.  Now I'm contemplating the white walls.  I hate to paint people.  Hate to paint.  I'll hang pictures on every square inch of a wall, but I will not paint.  Unless I'm filling the holes that are required to hang pictures on every square inch of the wall.

So now I need artwork, a festive lamp, and maybe like one fancy piece of glass or something.  I don't know.  It's a work in progress.

As for this evening...

We had mad fancy seats at the Dallas Stars games thanks to our friends who got tickets at the last minute just before the holiday.  We were sitting in the second row about four feet from the glass.  The stars won, 4 to 3.  It was a good time.

Please give me a few days on the Thanksgiving pictures and write up.  There are a lot of pictures and I have to get them on the right computer so I can post those.  We had a terrific time in Houston, it was wonderful to see everyone.  And Thanksgiving just reaffirms everything I've always believed ... family is everything.  Anything else is a minor detail.  I'm thankful for my family; the one that made me, the one I'm making, and the one that made my new family possible.

Tomorrow ... I decorate for Christmas and start preparing for my annual Christmas party on the 13th.  Big deal.  Lots of people coming.  My new dining room table will be here on Thursday!  Yeah for having that in time for the party and Christmas dinner!  Take care everyone ...
