This is Also a Mac

Okay.  I wrote earlier from a Mac that I borrowed at the office.  Right now I'm writing on a Mac that I now own.  And the wierdest thing ...

It's running Windows XP.

How is this possible you ask?  Something called VMware.  The company that my husband's company owns.  So now, I have an apple computer that uses virtualization to run different operating systems.  I could also install Vista on this thing and use either Leopard (Apple OS), Linux (freeware), Windows XP, Vista, or 2000.  All on the same machine.  It's a bit crazy, and not a little overwhelming.  But this is the nature of compromise.

You might be hearing more from me for a little while as I experiment with this thing.  So if you see a lot of posts that happen to be about nothing, do not be surprised.  It's just me playing on my new MacBook, trying to sort out how my blogging life is going to change.

But the quote on the inside of the VMware Fusion package is thus: "Moving to the Mac is easy.  Getting started is a breeze."

So far, it is easy.  And so far, it has made my anxiety over the switch from PC to Mac a little bit lighter.

Now all I need is a two button mouse.
