About that Rage

So Dowd and Rich talk about how mob mentalities are scary and we should stay away from those that insight them. Rich points it out more directly, saying that supporters at McCain / Palin rallies shout "cries of “Treason!” and “Terrorist!” and “Kill him!” and “Off with his head!” as well as the uninhibited slinging of racial epithets, are actually something new in a campaign that has seen almost every conceivable twist. They are alarms. Doing nothing is not an option."

Follow his links. The "kill him" line was said (allegedly) in reference to comments about Bill Ayers. Who, coincidentally, did kill people. So take that for what it's worth.

But my point is that all this hate speech isn't really limited to McCain / Palin. And since I know many won't follow links to Michelle Malkin, I'm going to paraphrase some of what she has HERE.

The grotesque pictures the Atlantic had taken? They later apologized. But the photographer photoshopped the pictures she took of McCain and gave him vampires teeth, blood all over his face, and made him look incredibly demonic.

The folks that call for "aborting Palin." The M.I.L.P (mother I'd like to punch) site and the visuals of a fist knocking teeth out of Palin's head. Sandra Bernhard calling for Palin to get gang raped. It's a video. See it for yourself. Madonna says of Palin, "I will kick her ass."

Saturday Night Live joked her husband engaged in sex with her daughters. That's not rage I guess, and therefore perfectly acceptable. I'd like to see how the press would react if they joked that Obama was guilty of incest.

Whatever. They'll say anything at this point. They are practically telling people, "If he doesn't win, get angry. Get very, very angry."
