Chevy Chase
From LoneStarTimes, this article is about Chevy Chase and his feeling that Tina Fey should "decimate" Sarah Palin in next week's SNL.
"I want her to decimate this woman. This woman is, I can't believe there hasn't been more about it. ... It's just unbelievable to me this woman is actually running for vice president," he continued.
What "more" does he want to happen?
Does he want her husband subpeoned? Does he want every expense report she's done in 40 years investigated? Does he want her son, serving in Iraq, splashed across blogs with concerns raised about his temper? How about a libelous cover of US Weekly? Would he like to purchase a T-shirt ridiculing her special needs child? Maybe he should ask Matt Damon if he should say something demeaning about her, attributing a quote to her she never said. Would he prefer her interviewed by a reporter with an agenda, bent on embarrassing her, and making her appear stupid? So much so in fact, that they edited the interview for West coast viewers? Would he perfer a former senator call her a "cocky wacko?" Should someone go assault her wikipedia entry, oh that's been done. Would he like women reporters to question her ability as a mother for taking on such a grueling job as VP? Does he want someone to write an unhinged column in a major publication that says "Sarah Palin makes me sick." I know, maybe he wants someone to photoshop bikini pictures of her so they can point out how not conservative she is. Then someone can put those pictures on CNN!
Or, in a more trivial vein, would he like her hair style assaulted for what it could mean for policy?
I could go on, and on, and on, and on. But really, Mr. Chase, what more would you like to happen to this woman? Aside from her crawling into a hole and crying and begging your forgiveness for being a conservative woman who dared to stand up for what she believed.
And you know what the worst part of all of that is ...
Most of those things are not about policy at all.
