Image is everything

For the opening ceremonies in Beijing, a young girl sang a patriotic song about her home of China. Unfortunately, it wasn't her voice that the nation and the world heard, it was the voice of a superior talent, but one that didn't look the part.

China wanted to promote a "flawless" image. So they put a prettier girl with a lousy voice on camera, and had a talented girl who had flawed teeth under a blanket somewhere singing into a microphone.

More fuel for the West to crush China in the medal count.
