Then there's this ...
Raul Reyes, a leader of FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia), thought Obama becoming President would be a good thing. FARC is an anti-American terrorist group that I'm assuming, being their Colombian and all, makes a lot of drugs (yup cocaine trade). They are also responsible for most of the kidnappings within Colombia, and in 1999 killed 3 Americans they believed were CIA agents. They were not. (Thank you wikipedia). Raul Reyes was assasinated in March of this year by Colombia, who bombed inside Ecuador to get the thing accomplished. FARC is well funded ... by Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela. Someone that Obama wants to sit down and have tea with.
Or does he? (Real Clear Politics)
Showing a lack of understanding of either the topic or how flip-flopping is bad for business (just ask John Kerry) during a week in Florida, Obama at one point said he would sit down with Chavez and urge him to stop supporting FARC. In another interview, he said he would not speak to any nation that supports FARC. And in yet another interview, he said he did not necessarily believe that Chavez does support FARC. According to the link above, even the reporters were confused.
Still, I'd wager a guess and say most voting Americans are not concerned nor worried about a Colombian revolutionary anything, and that this particular mistake in speech (he's campaign for months on end - he deserves a little slack from me) will go unnoticed. It will not deter anyone from voting for this particular candidate.
In fact, I'd say the only issue which will drive voters one way or the other - is money and the economy. But as my father-in-law stated, Obama is going to put a chicken in every pot. Take this excerpts from his speech on Tuesday which I heard on the radio on Wednesday:
We all know he's for universal health care. Having lived in the military health care system, and seeing what a great job our VA does, the prospect of this HORRIFIES me. On base in California, there is no Emergency room. It was closed down to cut costs. The government closed it down, to cut costs. The closest ER, is 45 minutes away.
I. Can. Not. Imagine.
And yes, every doctor visit I ever went on was paid for. And since that seems to be what's most important here, that someone else pays for it, I guess people will get what they want.
But going to college is a birth right? Since when? Give me a break. And only for the wealthy? My parents sent all three of their kids to school on a government paycheck and one job. They are NOT wealthy. Jobs to the jobless? Chicken in every pot. He will give you a job, a doctor, and a tax cut.
Where does the governments money come from to do these things? Taxes. Taxes on you and me. Oh I know he says he'll put them on big businesses. Well okay. If he raises taxes on Microsoft, what does he think Microsoft is going to do? Raises prices. It all comes back to us in the end.
The last part scares the crap out of me, and had me hiding in my room (other factors involved here, but nonetheless I was in my room) after I heard it. "Remake this great nation?" No, no, no, no, no. This nation was made great 200+ years ago. With a Constitution that separates us from every other country out there. Our freedom, our liberty, our ability to achieve anything we want if we want ... that is what makes us great.
Him and papa government do not make us great.

And you can rest assured that when we finally win the battle for universal health care in this country ...
the chance to get a college education should not be a privilege for the wealthy few, but the birthright of every American. ...
we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment – this was the time – when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals.
