Al Gore thinks dogs and cats want to vote
Found this story through the course of research for something else.
And heard on the radio.
So during his endorsement speech, or introduction I guess, Al Gore said:
Does this strike anyone else as slightly odd? The tomatos in question are from the United States ... is the federal government taking responsibility for this crisis? Is Congress taking responsibility in some way? In what way did my vote last election create this crisis?
And how does the election relate to the pet food recall? Is the government going to regulate where companies by their ingredients now?
All Al Gore is doing here is demegauging George Bush by trying to lay at his door the tomato and pet food recalls. He left out, probably on accident or time constraints, the spinach recall, the lettuce recall, and all the other things that have been affected with salmonella lately.
I've asked this a bunch ... what is going on now that we're having all these issues? Mom says people aren't washing their produce, and that more Americans eat out now than ever before and restaurants aren't adequately washing their produce either.
I can see that. More and more we eat out and that's why so few people in my generation know how to cook.
That's going to start to change (already has) with rising costs of everything.

If you care about a clean environment, if you want a government that protects you instead of special interests, you know that elections matter.
If you care about food safety, if you like a “T” on your BLT, you know that elections matter.
If you bought poison lead-filled toys from China, or adulterated medicine made in China, if you bought tainted pet food made in China, you know that elections matter.
After the last eight years, even our dogs and cats have learned that elections matter.
