Yes, because we sue merchants for what they charge for products all the time. So very capitolist and democratic of our leaders.
Also in what arrogant part of reality do US anti-trust laws affect Middle Eastern countries?
If the American people believe that this is anything other than make believe to convince voters they are actively trying to lower gas prices, than we are a lot worse off than I thought we were. The Saudis are laughing at this ridiculous bill right now, and we deserve to look ridiculous. We are ridiculous. Look who we elect to represent us!
Remember economics people? Supply and demand. OPEC controls the supply. China, India and the US have huge demand. China and India will pay more. Thus - we pay more. Want cheaper gas? Increase supply. No other goverment policy smoke is going to make that reality any easier. There is no magic cheap gas pill, just as there is no magic weight loss pill.
