Home again, home again, jiggity jig

We made it back last night about 8:00 or so. No real issues on the trip, except that when you have 3,000 people in one group that's one main purpose is to party ... well you're bound to have a memorable story or two. :)

This is us next to El Arco de Cabo San Lucas at Land's End, the rock formation that Cabo is famous for. We were on our snorkeling trip. Which was incredible. We saw whales, the sea lion colony that sunbathes at El Arco from January to October, and of course many fishies. At one point, this big school of very large, very blue fish swam right underneath us. Within inches of us! I didn't have an underwater camera so no pictures, but the memories are good.

If you're interested in the 300 other pictures that I did take ... they are HERE. There's a lot of redundancy as the bright Mexico sun and LCD screens don't get along very well. And I was trying to get pictures of the 14 foot waves as they swelled.

We really did have a good time. The company put on a really great spread. There were 1800 employees there, with dates, so roughly 3600 people spread out among 4 different hotels. Sunday evening we had a Mexican Fiesta with authentic dancers, singers, and clown type of things. It was like a carnival! Every morning they had breakfast for us out on the patio, with eggs, bacon, omelet station, french toast, fruit, granola, milk ... the works. We spent our mornings at the pool or on the beach, and they had boxed lunches ready for us at 11:30. Tuesday was the big gala event. The hotel spent 5 days getting it ready. It was on the beach, with a huge stage, television screens, television cameras, table service for dinner, wine service at the table, open bar after dinner, and KC and the Sunshine band played after the awards.

We were able to hang out with a lot of old friends from Boston, the folks from Dallas, and we met a lot of new people as well. It was just generally a good time. A good incentive for Lewis to do well next year! One of the wives (Danielle) was telling me that if this is what she gets out of it, her husband can work late, weekends, or what have you. :) At the awards dinner the VP of North America sales made a big speech about the wives / spouses being a big contributor to the success of their mates. It was nice to be recognized as part of the "team."

Good time was had by all, no question. Now ... it's back to the grind.
