So American Idol is losing ratings. If the producers aren't looking at their line-up and saying well, yeah duh. They are stupid.
This week they sang songs from the rock and roll music hall of fame. Last week Neil Diamond. Before that (my favorite) Andrew Lloyd Weber, and before that Dolly Parton.
Um ... geriatrics, anyone?
How many 14 year old's even know who the fabulous Andrew Lloyd Weber even is? Or Dolly Parton for that matter?
You want to scew younger, AI, let your contestants pick younger, hipper songs. I wonder if it's a rights issue. If it costs too much to get rights to sing like, Dave Matthews or Jessica Simpson or John Mayer. I bet it is.
But if you're losing your nice little youngen's - it's probably because your programming is targeting the wrong demo.
