For all interested parties ...
We survived the storms last night without incident. The sirens went off just before 4:00 AM and we huddled in the bathroom for about 20 minutes before they were off again. We watched the news a while to see if we were through the worst of it (we were) and went back to bed.
The house is fine, no damage that I saw this morning, though others in the area were not as lucky. "Straight line winds" took the roofs off several buildings and several businesses on my commute into work had damage to signs, exteriors, etc.
Sounds like from what I'm reading, North Dallas, Addison, Plano, and towns East of us, had it the worst.
No confirmed tornadoes, but there are those that swear some of the damage had to have been caused by circular winds.
Wish us luck tonight, as we're supposed to have a similar storm this evening.
