Prove your the Daddy, even if you're married.
In Tennessee, Democrat State Rep. G.A. Hardaway is backing a bill that would require all babies born have a paternity test before the father's name will be listed on the birth certificate. The cost of acquiring a certificate would go from $7 to $165.
If you are married less than 300 days, you have to have the paternity test.
Now, I'm not all that worried about this ever becoming a law. But I just think it odd (interesting?) that a man is first, calling all single women promiscuous, and second, demeaning all father's to sperm donor. And in his world, he thought this was a good idea.
Yes, yes, we have to be sure that your donor is correct. No, no, you may not remember which donor you used.
This won't make it out of committee. But really, Papa Government knows that you're too stupid to know who the father of your child is, so we'll just make it mandatory to find out for you.
And might I point out, regardless of whose name is on a birth certificate, a parent can still lie to their child. I don't think I saw my birth certificate until I was 16 and getting a driver's license. The guy is stupid.
These are our representatives ... is it any wonder the country is dissatisfied?
