Barack Obama and "Swift Boating."

I repeatedly focus on Barack Obama because I believe he will be the next President of the United States. I don't talk about McCain because it's just makes my skin crawl to think people have voted for him to represent their interests. I don't talk about Hillary any more because by this time next week I'll be posting her concession speech. I don't care how closely she's kept the Hispanic vote. Obama, to my layman's eye, has out spent, out speeched, out stumped, out advertised, out campaigned her here in Texas. His commercials are on every fifteen minutes in prime time. I saw an ad during every commercial break of American Idol last night. At high speed ... because I have DVR and don't watch commercials. :)

I have yet to see a Hillary television ad. Probably because the chick has no money.

Barack Obama has been critized by his lack of distance between himself and Louis Farrakhan, a known anti-semite. I think he's a politician above all else ... today's persona non-grata, tomorrow's biggest donor. He's going to try and look like he's burned the connection but at the same time wink at Farrakhan, Thank you for your support. This is nothing new to the American electorate.

Farrakhan's endorsement is nothing to me in the face of Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Putin, and the crazy guy in North Korea who's name suddenly escapes me. Or perhaps it's maybe not nothing ... maybe it's just par for the course? I don't know. It doesn't change anything for me and it apparently doesn't change anything for anyone else. Except maybe Jewish Americans who were on the fence.

I don't really think this is "Swift Boating." The term only came into the venacular because they succeeded. People listened to what they had to say and responded. These allegations against Obama ... well they are bouncing against a lead exterior in most cases.

The Gen El is going to be interesting at this point in that one side is completely dead and lifeless, and the other side has all this momentum. One side has an old man (sorry John) and the other has a young and vibrant new comer.

What do I hate the most about this election cycle? A Senator is going to be President. Yuck. They are as much a part of the establishment as anyone else. Hillary Clinton was on Kidd Kraddick in the morning this AM, which is funny because they openly support Obama, and she was talking about how the Senate can't really accomplish meanginful things without a friend in the White House.

That's her story now, and she's sticking to it.

She also said (when asked what questions most normal people ask her) that she hears things like this from constituents: "Can you help me with this subprime loan I fell into?"

To which I vomit. You don't fall into a subprime loan. You qualify for a subprime loan because you have bad credit. You are subprime. You have bad credit from either bad choices or circumstance (job loss, health issues, etc). But either way, with credit such as that, there is no way, you should have bought a home. Fell into ... like Baby Jessica fell into the well all these people "fell" into bad loans. Well Jessica was under 2 years old and didn't know better. What are their exuses?

Obama said it best in the debate the other night, this election is about people with their hands out. He said something after that about hands out, needing help, etc.

He got it right though. It is about having hands out. And it's about who is going to put the most in them. Rest assured, Obama and his quadruple the budget plan, will definitely put money and entitlements in those hands.
