I don't know which I like better ... these statements:

Hillarious.
As a former Senator from North Carolina ... in what way would a person be qualified / able to call an Arab leader and suggest next steps after an assassination? Does he have Musharrif on speed dial? Should that really be listed in the plus column of his foreign policy experience? And am I alone in saying, um ... Mr. Edwards, me thinks you are a big fat liar? Or ... Mr. Edwards, your comedy is knee slapping funny.
“We just had this, this international crisis in Pakistan that is still ongoing. And my response to that was to speak directly to President Musharraf, to urge him to do a series of things that would move the country toward democracy, that would allow international inspectors into the country and to proceed with the elections in an open, fair, verifiable and secure way. And I believe was a calming influence in a very volatile situation.”

I'm not sure whether Edwards' claim is funnier if he just made it up (entirely possible) or if Musharrif was really on the line, but frantically asking aides who the hell John Edwards is.
Hillarious.
