The Steroid List
It's out.
Clemens will be in the Mitchell Report. So will Andy Petitte. According to the story at the link, lots of folks in pinstripes will be mentioned.
It's going to be a difficult time for baseball. I'm interested to see how the commissioner will respond, if at all. To my mind, they have to enforce their own rules.
But what will the consequences of that be?
Check back for updates.
UPDATE
The full list is available at ESPN. There are not any surprises according to my husband. One name that I didn't see ... Jeff Bagwell. Someone I remember being harrassed about steroid use. Not that his name isn't mentioned means he didn't do it ... but I'd say it's better than being named.
I'm sorry to say that Roger Clemens is going to have a great big asterisk next to his name and his Cy Young Awards. What a pathetic waste of ... everything.
Mitchell, as previously noted, only suggested punishment in the most blatant and abusive cases (from my reading, Clemens, Bonds and possibly Pettite). The other players would be appropriately embarrassed and a new wave of baseball would begin.
I'm sad. I think I've blogged about Clemens and steroids before. But I'm just sad.
