Long Time No Post
Well ... I've had a tragedy.
The external harddrive that housed a majority of my pictures (okay all of them) has died. A strange clicking noise has indicated (and inspection has confirmed) that the drive has failed, and the disk has been damaged. We have to send it off to be saved (they take the disk out, put it in a new drive, and remove the undamaged files). The cost is ... alot. So now I have the dubious task of determening what my memories are worth to me.
Pictures from my wedding and honeymoon are saved in other places, so I have all of those. I have many of the pictures I've taken from other trips online where I print them ... so it's not a total loss.
But some of the more recent pictures ... well those are lost. Megan's graduation, Thanksgiving, my recent Christmas party. All gone. So ... what are your memories worth?
I'm having to ask myself that question.
Anyway ... so my absence is in part due to the fact that I can't stomach sitting at my home computer because ... well it just reminds me of how much it's going to cost me to set it back to rights. I'm also ill. So I don't have much to talk about except how you never need tissue ( really need tissue) until your sick. Because paper towels and toilet paper just don't feel good on a sore nose.
And ... it's a horrible way to spend the rest of my vacation. Ill ... with a stuffy head and not wanting to go anywhere or do anything. I had such big plans! I was going to scrapbook ... but alas that makes me feel as depressed as sitting at the computer does. So until I sort out THAT mess ... we'll see how much scrapbooking gets done.
I have knitted a scarf. So that's something at least. But mostly, I'm lazying around trying to get better.
I have seen the news and am very sad about the assassination of Bhutta. But I'll post another ...

I was wondering what you were up to. As far as future picture storage goes, I have nothing but good things to say about smugmug...doesn't help much now though, I know.
