Because I Said So

So you might have missed this movie. It came earlier this year and its now on HBO. Diane Keaton is mom to Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls), Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly), and Mandy Moore.

First time I saw it, I was like ... hmm. It could be good. I watched it again. And I knew it was good.

The thing that's awesome about it ... is its my mom and my sister. Sort of ... you can't really be exactly like us because we are insane.

But like the fight they have at the mom's 60th? 50th? birthday party? That's so how we are. And the overall relationship, noisey, calling all the time, the way they talk to each other.

Anway ... if you're looking for something to watch and you have a nosey mom who you resemble in personality it's worth putting on. The storyline is somewhat bogus, but the romantic interest guy is cool, and his dad is great. I guess my biggest problem with it is the mom's motivation for setting the whole thing up is kind of retarded. I just have a hard time believing it. And her clothes are HORRIBLE. But maybe that's part of the point. You know what else is funny ... her mother is her mother-in-law too. Huh.

"I love that you have this insane way of talking in circles that makes perfect sense." And the other clincher ... "I love your mother." :)

In other news ... my Christmas party yesterday was pretty good. My house is a train wreck today ... but se la vie. Pictures are HERE. If you're wondering ... there was Iron Chef, in which Lewis, Drew and Jenkins fought for the top prize of being "Iron Chef." The secret ingredient was ginger root, which was kind of difficult for them ... but they managed. Lewis, not familiar with ginger root at all, had the hardest time. He made ginger bread, which was white bread with ginger rubbed on it. I thought that was very cute. It won him some originality points, but his chicken tasted somewhat horrible, and he and Drew both lost to Jenkins. His was the most edible of the bunch. Which in the end, was what the judges decided was most important. Pictured above are the judges.
