American Heroism

Rick Rescorla was British and fought in Rhodesia and Cyprus. He fought with the Americans in Vietnam and became a citizen. For his full story ... follow the link.
He worked for Morgan Stanley on the 44th floor of the south tower. On September 11th he called his wife after the first plane hit, asked her what she thought. They were telling people not to evacuate, to stay put. He told his wife that he was going to evacuate.
He told the WTC officials, in no uncertain terms, what he thought of thier "stay put" plan.
In the end, he got 2,600 Morgan Stanley employees out. He, and the two men that went with him (why doesn't the story have their names!) did not make it out.
These three men, and the countless others, are the stories we should remember. Their bravery is awesome.
