iGoogle
For the internet savvy out there ... check out iGoogle.
Why? Well no real great reason ... except that it's really cool! It's google with your presonalized stuff on it (Yahoo's been doing this same thing for a while now) and they let you pick themes, and based on where you are living and the time of day, the picture in the banner at the top of the screen changes. So let's say its 8:00 AM here, the little fox in my "Tea Party" theme is eating breakfast. If it's afternoon (as it is now) he's washing laundry as the sun is getting ready to set.
So cool! It's these small touches that people like ... at least, that people like me like!
So I read an article on MSM today about getting married too early. My first thought was ... how early is early? Then my second thought was ... wait a second ... to each his own! There is no right answer for that sort of thing. It's an individual choice! Live your own, best lives people! And quit judging others.
But of course, I read the article. Our girl in question was 24 when she got married (hardly 16) and was lamenting how she had never lived on her own.
As a person who got married at 25 (which felt like the exact right age) I shake my head at her nonsense about missing out on dating.
Come now woman! If you had dated you would have missed out on your HUSBAND. Your life mate. Your child's father! Isn't that somewhat more important? Have some priorities!
My basic belief in this whole marriage bit is you get married when it is right for you and your mate. No magazine is going to be able to tell you when that is. And they shouldn't label when the "right" or "wrong" time is. Sheesh. All the world is telling us what to do and what's normal. Let your conscience be your guide! Live your best life, and make choices you can live with and live within your means. And find happiness in the small things.
That's my take on life. It wasn't a bad article ... just a silly one.
But that iGoogle thing is really cool. I really like my little fox and his / her tea party!
