Horcrux
Okay ... My entire family (immediate) seems to believe that Harry himself is the 7th and finale horcrux. This doesn't sit well with me as it means Harry must be destroyed. Which I've taken the test, read through the books, listened to JKR ... and I think the trio survives.
But here is an article about the horcruxes ... and at the end it says the same thing I think ... Harry has to destroy all the remaining horcruxes before he can destroy Voldemort. How could he destroy himself and then destroy Vold?
I was watching one of those shows that goes back through all the movies and books to explain what's coming up next. It was a promo piece for OoTP on HBO. One of the guys from Leaky was on there talking about the most important piece of the puzzle we are yet to know is who helped Voldemort that night in Godric's Hollow? Who helped him escape?
My initial reaction was Wormtail ... but we learned in the 4th book that Wormtail only went back to his master after he was discovered as a rat in the 3rd book. So I'm thinking it wasn't him.
I think it was Snape. I think Snape helped Voldemort leave the Potter's house and I think that moment, the murder of the Potter's (Lily) is what made him switch sides. I know someone somewhere knows when Snape started teaching Potions. I remember it being mentioned in the first book -- "Oh he's been the Potions Professor since blah blah blah because he wanted the DADA position but got rejected." The year he started teaching Potions - I would guess - is the same year that Voldemort went into hiding and the same year that Harry is dropped off with the Dursley's. He started his plan with Dumbledore in that time frame ... and it's been going strong ever since. And something else in this time ... maybe that allowed Dumbledore and the Order to get some of the Death Eaters in Azkaban ... something else Snape did makes Dumbledore trust him without question. Something of great importance and significance. Maybe his agreement to spy? His agreement to revenge Lily and protect Harry no matter what?
This is going to be explained to us in the 3rd to last chapter (or so) of the book, and it's going to explain the Lily's Eyes (at least part of it) connection. Perhaps Snape looked down at the baby that was Harry, still alive, and saw Lily looking back at him.
Now ... if Harry is a Horcrux, as some have speculated ... I have this: What if Harry removes the horcurx from himself, thereby removing the scar and allowing himself to vanquish Voldemort? Harry would live and it would explain what my brother feels is the last line of the novel ... "Harry, your scar is gone!"
It's only three days and it feels like a lifetime. This last week has been harder than any of the weeks before it. I can not wait.
