I was wrong about who would drop out first ... I predicted Guiliani because I didn't / don't think his personal life is going to hold up against intense media scrutiny.

Turns out, it's John McCain who's campaign can't hold water. We shall see. If they get the cloture vote on Tuesday his numbers may bounce or fall even further. I'm not sure. American's are fickle. They may forget before he's forced to quit. But when Thompson announces in Nashville, I think the nail may be in the coffin. All McCain's money will go Thompson's way.

But can Thompson live up to the hype?

I'm not sure any man could. And if Guiliani has personal life issues ... LOOK OUT ... here comes Freddo. The fact that his wife (and past wives) are all smokin' hot may hurt him with soccer moms. Not to mention Christian voters that hold the sanctity of marriage in high regard. But hey ... what do I know?

SCOTUS is handing down lots and lots of rulings today. Including loosening McCain-Feingold finance restrictions. Somewhere, McCain is breathing into a paperbag as he feels his political career spiraling away from him.

More on SCOTUS ... Ginsberg and Stevens are rumored to be nearing retirement. I really don't want to go through the judicial nominee process again. The two sides just start to look petty and really, really biased with little to no thought about what it is they are doing.

Where are all the Hurricanes? Well of course now that the season is upon us and we've only had 2 storms (not even hurricanes) the powers that be are back peddling a bit and saying the 17 storms they predicted are looming on the horizon. Don't worry, they'll be here, they say.

I like the weather channel, and radars, and predictions for the weekend, really I do. But if it's any further than 2 or 3 days out ... they are just GUESSING. So when they make predictions an entire year in advance ... well they just prove more and more they are dealing in junk science.

The iPhone. Yes, I want one. No, I will not get one. I bet that next year, the highest left item is the iPhone. Why? Because it's $600. $600 gets you an MP3 player, phone and internet browser. And ... in addition to the $600 fee for the phone ... your data plan on Cingular would have to be at least $50 a month. In addition to your phone charges. So you're talking over $100 a month for the stupid plans, plus the cost of the phone.

I'd be afraid to set the stupid thing down. Also ... the whole thing is a touch screen. THis screams to me "I'm going to break and you won't be able to dial 911." And what happens when you drop it? On my camera, the lcd screen (not a touch screen on my model) has a tendency to crack just from exposure to different temperature elements. And if I drop it ... FORGET it. The thing is a coaster. I imagine the iPhone to be similar. You'd have to treat the thing with kid gloves. And I'm mean, horrible, vicious to my cell phone. Throw it in the purse, throw it in the car, throw it across the room ... it's lucky it's still here.

For $600 ... that phone better last a decade or more. And in this day and age when people are getting cell phones once a year ... it just doesn't seem that practical.

We'll see though. I imagine they will be the hot item to get this Christmas. Me, I want a Wii. The thing is awesome.
