"I didn't leave my party ... my party left me."

My dad grew up Catholic in a South Chicago suburb. Whenever he decided to have a polictical mindsight, he started Democrat. The party of the people, the working man's party. Eventually, through whatever change ... he says the Democratic Party left him.

That's how I'm feeling lately. I know a lot of people have been splitting from the Republicans over the last two years. Mainly the last three years. The Conservatives felt like they gave President Bush a gift by re-electing him, and he threw it back in their faces with a grin that made it look like he had done it himself.

Not so much sir.

There are some things that I will never stop doing. Chief among that, supporting the United States military. I will always champion them and whatever cause they are defending. They are great men and women who represent the best of us.

I feel like the party is leaving me ... and I didn't ever like being counted among them anyway. I'm a conservative American, who thinks that the Constitution is sacrasanct and that the government should be small. I believe in all the Amendments, even the ones that people want to change. I believe if it's my home, and my land, it's mine. Not the governments. Anyway ...

Peggy Noonan has an article at WaJo. I always like what she has to say. Lone Star Times breaks it up nicely.

My party is leaving me ... and I'm left wondering what the world is going to look like in a post-Bushconian world. Will we sigh with relief once January 26th, 2009 is here? Will we be safer? Will the terrorists notice? Will anything be different? Is there a way to drag the country back from where they've taken us? Can a budget be balanced and fair to all of the citizens? Can taxes be limited as to provide for the prosperity of working citizens and not just the government programs? I don't know.

I do know that Hillary is a Socialist who doesn't believe in an "on your own" mentality. She wants everything to be everyones. I believe she sees the world as a Utopian society, where everyone has enough and everyone is happy and everyone is provided for by Mother America. Unfortunately, Communism is the great on paper poor in execution ideal. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and whenever the government has that kind of control over it's citizens (where they work, what they eat, where they get medical care, education) they are loathe to give up that power and loathe to change. Communism is the stopping ground before Totalitarian dictatorships.

A co-worker of mine from my previous organization passed away yesterday. It was a freak accident, and is very shocking. Please remember to treat everyone well ... because there is no guarentee of tomorrow to make it right.
