Honest Moments
There's a scene in The Family Stone. It's towards the end of the movie. Everyone is in the house, Sarah Jessica Parker is yelling at them all about how mean they are to her and how she's not that bad. She then "outs" herself saying she slept with her boyfriend's brother only to find out that she did not, in fact, sleep with said brother. Her line is so out of sorts its laughable. "Doesn't anybody love me?"
I swear only Sarah Jessica Parker could make that line believable.
I love this last scene in the kitchen. The two woman, the mother and meanest sister (Diane Keaton and Racheal McAdams) follow SJP into the kitchen. SJP is getting breakfast casseroles out of the fridge and when the women open the door they hit the fridge door which hits SJP, casserole goes flying all over the place. It's so pathetic it's hillarious.
They're crying they're laughing they're sad they're relieved that finally there is one honest moment between them.
The rest of the movie I could do without. But that one scene I could watch over and over again.
