Harry Reid is trying to tie all 22 amendments together into one amendment to get cloture on.
NOT GOOD and unacceptable. If the single amendment is opposed, each individual amendment will then be given 1 hour for debate and voting.
Congress can't pass .... in an hour, let alone a complicated amendment. I left out the gross word ... but hopefully you get the idea. :) I think I'm funny sometimes.
But again my question is ... why are they trying to force feed this to us? Just let the bill be debated. Just let the amendments be debated. What else do you have to do? Pass appropriations bills? We all know you [Congressmen] aren't going to have those done before the end of the year let alone the end of your fiscal year (October). So what's the rush? It's only been a month. It's huge legislation that half the voting body (over half, really) hadn't even seen until 3 and a half weeks ago. And it didn't go to committee, where these items would have been debated more thoroughly before bringing it to the floor.
So if it's anyone's fault the bill isn't ready ... it's McCain and Kennedy. Oh wait ... it's Kennedy-Reid Immigration bill now isn't it? Funny how McCain's name got dropped off after he started catching flak for it ... after the people roared up and said No to this garbage. Or is it Kennedy - Kyl now? I've seen both. But I haven't seen a lot of McCain - Kennedy.
Poor guy ... his campaign / career might be over all because he sold out his party and his consituents.
