Hypocrisy at Large

From Hugh Hewitt:

But Mr. Sharpton, in a jab at Mitt Romney (and the Mormon religion, which Mr. Hitchens had criticized because it once endorsed racial segregation), added, “As for the one Mormon running for office, those who really believe in God will defeat him anyway, so don’t worry, that’s a temporary situation.”

Interesting. Pray tell, what would the reaction from the world have been had the word Mormon been replaced by Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, etc.? Because none of those religions, "really believe in God" either.

I'm not advocating knee jerk, "I'm so offended you should be castrated" reactions. But since Mr. Sharpton is such a proponent of those himself, it seems silly that his own verbal missteps are ignored.

What's good for the goose apparently is not good for the gander.
