They Heard That
I don't want to hear one more single solitary word from Harry Reid with the words "support" or "our" or "troops" ever again.
Ever.
God Bless our Troops and keep them safe. And may someone, somewhere please explain to Senator Harry Reid what he has done. He is entitled to his opinion. I just happen to disagree with him.
But the problem is, nation, readers, who ever is listening in this void ... the problem is that the people in charge of our military's budget are starving them. The people in charge of their funding don't want them to continue to do their jobs. So what's happening? The Army is starving to death. All funds available from the other branches are being diverted to the Army until Congress gets its head out of the sand.
The problem here? That's money that goes to military family members too. That pays for support programs and plane tickets home for R&R. There are real consequences from that supplemental not being passed, and the only people suffering from those consequences are our military men and women and their families.
Harry Reid is a coward and no friend to the military. Somewhere overseas today a Marine or a Sailor or an Airman heard what he had to say and looked around at all the hard work he/she and his brother and sisters in arms are doing and said "We're losing?"
The people that sent them there have turned on them.
My husband yesterday asked me what I wanted from the outcome of this war ... I said parades and warm smiles for all of our troops. A heroes welcome for all of our heroes. In the end, that's all I want. The happiness and well being of our troops. I want them to know that I am grateful. They stand on a wall, they protect us, the promise to not let harm come to us. And it may just be slogans and punch lines to the civilian crowd, but to those of us who know ... honor, courage, and the United States is something that means something to some. They don't have codes for nothing.
Everything that we have, the Constitution and the Freedom it provides, we have because of people who took up arms and fought for it. The men and women in our military today continue that tradition and that noble work.
Integrity First.
Service Before Self.
Excellence in All We Do.
If the war is lost ... it's not because of them ... it's because of people like Harry Reid who don't have the stomach to see it through. And maybe Iraq isn't the battle ground we should be fighting on. How do I know? But Senator Reid and the others (President Bush included) sent them there to do a job, and that's what they are doing. I'm so mad I could .... It's like someone on the playground telling you your family is full of losers. How would that make you feel?
Read these for the hypocrisy and media baiting of Harry Reid:
Harry Reid: The War Is Lost
So Harry thinks the war is lost. Today anyway. But just three days ago Reid was still talking about giving the troops a “strategy for success” and giving the troops “every penny” they need.
Which is it? Are we going to try to be successful in Iraq or are we just going to give up and come home?
Harry Reid Raises the White Flag: 'Iraq War is Lost'
US Senate leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has conceded defeat in Iraq. The US Democrat leader appears to have proclaimed that the American Military has failed and that their mission is for naught.
Oh, and Reid is saying how awful the Supreme Court's ruling on Partial Birth Abortion is ... but he voted for it every time it came to the floor. He's such a creep.
Ever.

Beginning in mid-April, the Army will slow the purchase of non-critical repair parts and supplies, he said. Non-essential travel and supply transactions using a government purchase card and shipment of equipment will also be restricted unless needed immediately for war efforts.
In the interim, Army officials have worked with the Defense Department comptroller to submit a proposal to Congress to borrow $1.6 billion from the Navy and Air Force that would ease the Army's shortfall through June.
If budget issues aren't soon resolved, Mr. Campbell said that another reprogramming would be submitted in three or four weeks to carry the Army through the end of July.
