Maybe I take it to personally...

I see things like this and I just want to cry. Someone made this ... spent money on it ... believes in it's message ... it's enough to make me want to cry.

If you want to know more about the march on the Pentagon last Saturday ... this link HERE has a bunch of information about the different groups that were marching. It discusses how many of these groups are Front organizations for The Revolutionary Communist Party and the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

Either way ... the sign makes me sad. But I guess I'm the opposing side of their views so it's natural that I'm repulsed.

The military I know is good ... and I support them and pray for them every day. I have a prayer box, and inside that prayer box is a prayer for the military and their families and for God to keep them safe.

And since the March was on a Saturday, I guess it's not such a big deal that so many people were there ... but the people that drove their from all over the country ... Don't you have jobs??

Next on my list ... Ayaan Hirsi Ali was on the Colbert Report last night, it was a re-run, but the woman is really remarkable. She's so intelligent, and has seen so much ugliness that I will never have to see ... I think we shoud all read her book, Infidel. If only to understand what the difference between fundamentalist Islam and the religion of Islam is.

Next ... the Alberto Gonzales mess and the firing of 8 Attorney's who serve at the pleasure of the President. I don't get it. As far as I'm concerned it's just what the next two years are going to be like until we have a new administration. They will grab anything that can be spun negatively against the administration and hammer it as a "scandal." Far as I can tell, Gonzales is ineffective an unorganized and maybe should be fired for those things anyway ... but not for the firing of those 8 people. They serve at the pleasure of the President and they probably should have cleaned house in January of 2004 or 2000. That's what Clinton did. I don't really have a lot to say about this mess ... it's just a mess.

But the Health Care issue and the VA benefits and how our men and women are getting good care ... Neal Boortz talked about yesterday how when he was a dependent he had bad health care experiences at the dispensary. As an Air Force brat myself, I have to concede I have never had a problem. The only issue I ever had with getting seen and getting "healed" was when I cracked my head open in Lubbock Freshman year. We hadn't told Tri-Care that I was in a different geographical region than my sponsor and they didn't pay right away. But I still got my necessary stitches at the ER.

I think active duty care is fine, because the way they look at, the active duty guys are their top priority and the Vets can wait. Maybe Boortz was a dependent to a Vet. Probably was. But if you want to see just how bad beaurcratic red tape can get ... and how screwed up your life can be with the government controlling it ... ask for Socialized Medicine, or the new spin phrase "Universal Health Care."

I just don't know. The whole thing with the march irritates me. I grew up with military members, my father is in the Air Force, my father in-law in the Marines, my two brother-in-laws were in the Navy. My Uncle was in the Marines. And if you're in the military ... the military is your family. I don't know ... they always talk about putting faces to the statistics of victims ... why don't they put faces to the military members they are raging against? The Pentagon is just a building ... the people inside it are members of my extended military family, and have lives and loves and passions just like the rest of us. They are not baby killers. They are not a machine designed to murder ... they are here, in this country, to protect the citizens of the United States. Now if you don't like how they are doing that ... then VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. Not just for President. Vote in primaries. Vote for your local officials. But don't rage against the people that are serving our country.

Home of the Free. Because of the Brave.
