Confessions

"Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a chilling string of other terror plots during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released Wednesday by the Pentagon."

If your first reaction to this is, "he's lying." Ask yourself why your first reaction is negative, and then wait for all the facts to come forward before jumping to conclusions.

Mohammed confessd to planning 9/11, planning assisinations on President Clinton and Carter, the shoe airplane bombing several years ago, and a host of others, 28 in all. Do you remember all those years ago when they said they raided an Al Qaeda hide out and found all those plans for 9/11 on computers? This is that guy.

He does say he was tortured in Gitmo, I say let a judge decide that based on the evidence provided. But he also said he was confessing not as a result of coercion. I don't know why he's confessing. I'm assuming there's some motive. We're pretty sneaky people when we want to be ... "We'll let all your children come to America and pay for their education if you cop to this."

Maybe? I don't know. Maybe he's just sick of the entire thing.

Either way. One self professed bad guy is going to be brought to United States justice for crimes against the United States. May God have mercy on his soul.

Also ... Fox News says the Surge is working in Iraq. With others saying "violence is cycical" so even if it's down now it will go back up.

Because, same as those that said "he's lying" up top ... there is no good news unless it's bad news and fitted to your personal agenda.

Less violence in Iraq means safer conditions for our men and women in uniform, regardless of your political preference. So when I hear violence is going down ... I breathe a little easier knowing that maybe, if only for today, the troops are a little bit safer. Everyone should believe the same. Less violence = good thing. Things going better in Iraq = good thing.

Just ask Ted Koppel. I'm sure he doesn't consider himself a conservative (and probably not a liberal either ... but maybe) and he said some very interesting (and true!) things on Meet the Press.
