I don't usually post about this stuff ... but what the heck everyone else is talking about it.
Britney Spears shaved her head.
I know, I know ... in the face of a pointless Iraq Resolution, growing tensions with Iran, Russia and the US agreeing to blackmail (North Korea), this hardly seems like news. I didn't even touch on the domestic issues that have cropped up. But yes ... Britney Spears shaved her head. And it's front and center on every website everywhere.
What do I think? I know, you don't care. But here's my theory.
One of two things is going on. One, Britney is trying to stage a come back that due to legal issues is taking longer than initially planned. With public support in the toilet and her name quickly falling out of headlines due to another vivacious blond (Anna Nicole - I have a theory on that too), Britney had to act. So ... her PR people told her to check in to Rehab. She didn't so much like that. So she shaved her head in front of 50 cameras ... thereby ensuring debate on her "pysche" would continue for at least another week.
Next week she'll ... she'll ... well I dunno what she'll do. Something though. That's one theory.
The other? She's a very sad, sad woman. Who went through a litney of break-up hair cuts and just realized her hair now has the texture and composition of straw and she wanted to start over. Can't be bad for the hair now can it?
Oh ... and if that Lawyer guy (Anna's boyfriend and father on the birth cert) doesn't start getting investigated soon ... well I'll do nothing. But seriously ... two people mysteriously die while hanging out with him and no one's blinking? Come on now. Especially with that little babe who's worth something like $80 million if the second settlement goes through and $474 million if it's appealed and the first settlement goes through? All subject to go to him as the legal father at present? Motive? Come on ... I can't do all the police work!
I blame television for my knowledge of this ... if it wasn't on CNN headline News every fifteen minutes I'd know nothing. Or if Anderson Cooper didn't devote an entire hour to it the other night I wouldn't know a thing. I guess I should thank them (or shoot them). Either one.
Secondly ... how about this that New York - should Hillary win the Presidency in '08 - is talking about appointing President Clinton (former) to Hillary's Senate seat for the remainder of the term? That'd set him up nicely for the UN job he wants.
Thirdly ... Jet Blue is stupid. :) Poor things. They should have realized that every other carrier was canceling flights not because they like losing money ... but because it was eminentely necessary. My understanding is that prior to the snow storm in the North East last week, other airlines cancelled flights for the coming days and reschedule and reorganized passengers for later in the week. Jet Blue, thinking the weather would break at some point, kept flights open. And now they have the mess they now find themselves in.
