More SOTU and others ...
I meant to say this earlier ...
It was really awesome watching the President say "Madame Speaker." As a woman ... it just felt good. And the way it was handled was just great, and the response ... it was an awe inspiring moment and I hope that Nancy Pelosi carries that moment with her forver. It was her moment, our moment as women, and it was great. I disagree with just about everything that Nancy Pelosi says ... but that was a great, great moment for women. And I truly think President Bush was honored to be the one to say "Madame Speaker." And I think the woman that was introducing the cabinet (or calling them down, whatever that's called) she got choked up when she said "Madame Speaker ... the Cheif Justice and Justices of the Supreme Court." It was really cool to watch that happen. Madame speaker ... we've come a long way baby.
Other things of note today ...
John Kerry's not running for President. Someone said because they think his comments regarding the troops were too damaging. As an adamant troop supporter I would agree.
The Senate Finance Committee passed that non-binding resolution that says they don't want to send more troops to Iraq. My enemy of the hour, Chuck Hagel R-Nebraska, was the only Rep to vote for it. I'm not really all that opposed to their opposition, but Chuck's ridiculous line about "Knowing damn sure what we're doing..." does he really need to swear? Come on now ... let's get out a thesaurus and find a better word. My number one problem with all this ... it's posturing ... done simply for effect. The experts have commented on Bush's plan and they think it is the best course of action. Until the Congress comes up with an alternative, I think they should stop with these non-binding crappy things.
Oh, and I better see some Reps filibustering stuff this year, just like the Dems did in 2003 and 2004. With such a slim majority the Dems should not be able to push their entire agenda without a compromise. And Chuckie ... get out of my party. Go caucaus with the enemy you scardy cat coward.
Okay ... he is my enemy of the week and all. :)
The Boston Globe has a piece today about which '08 POTUS candidates are talking about Jihad's and terrorists. None of them are Democrats. I know ... I'm surprised the Globe wrote this story too.
He he -- I told you it would get ugly. And it's only just started. Apparently Fox News and CNN are bickering over a report out of Indonesia about Barack Obama. Here's an excerpt from NYT:
But I bet 20 million dollars that report was funded by someone connected to HRC. I would not want to be Pres. if Hillary were Vice. I'm telling you ... she's ambitious in the bad, Ceaser and Brutus way. Here's the full article that started the furor.
Alright done for now ...

He he -- I told you it would get ugly. And it's only just started. Apparently Fox News and CNN are bickering over a report out of Indonesia about Barack Obama. Here's an excerpt from NYT:
The original report, posted on the online version of Insight, a magazine owned by The Washington Times, said that as a child in Indonesia, Mr. Obama had attended a madrassa, a school that teaches a radical version of the Muslim faith. Mr. Obama, who spent a few years in Jakarta as a boy, is a Christian.Hehe. CNN thinks HRC didn't have anything do with it and blames Fox for bad reporting ... and Fox said something about Anderson Cooper being Paris Hilton? I don't know ... sounds ridiculous.
Adding to the political volatility of the report was the attribution of the news to “researchers connected to” Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
But I bet 20 million dollars that report was funded by someone connected to HRC. I would not want to be Pres. if Hillary were Vice. I'm telling you ... she's ambitious in the bad, Ceaser and Brutus way. Here's the full article that started the furor.
