Fazul Abdullah Mohammed: The man behind the Embassy Bombings

Fazul Abdullah Mohammed is the Al Qaeda killer that planned the Embassy bombings in Africa in 1998 that killed 225 people and the Kenyan resort bombing in 2002.

Ethiopia forces had invaded Somalia to prevent an Islamic movement from ousting the weak, internationally recognized government from its lone stronghold in the west of the country. The U.S. and Ethiopia both accuse the Islamic group of harboring extremists, among them al-Qaida suspects.

Ethiopian troops, tanks and warplanes took just 10 days to drive the Islamic group from the capital, Mogadishu, and other key towns.

Ethiopian and Somali troops had over the last days cornered the main Islamic force in Ras Kamboni, a town on Badmadow island, with U.S. warships patrolling off shore and the Kenyan military guarding the border to watch for fleeing militants.

After this turn of events, the United States started performing survellience missions, and got word that Abdullah Mohammed was nearby. Monday at about 5pm, the US military started bombing the regions that Abdullah Mohammed was though to have been in.

You won't see much of this in the MSM.

This is the front page of the NYT. If you go to the link posted here, you'll see that the story, is below the fold, and under a large story (with picture) of Apples new iPhone.

Available HERE is the front page of the Washington Post. The story isn't even listed among the top. You will notice the lead story is on an Iraq setback "clash" and Global warming.

The LA Times front page is HERE. There's a PDF available at the link. The story on Somalia and US troops bombing there isn't listed. Same as the Post, there's a story on Iraq and Global Warming.

I bring this up because yesterday I caught a snippet of a headline of Drudge, and I didn't see anything about Somalia on the 6 O'Clock news, Keith Olberman on MSNBC or in the lead ins to the 10 O'clock. The only place I saw it was the news break for Hannity and Colmes.

And to their credit, this story is headline news at ABCNews.com, Yahoo News, CNN, and probably the other major television channels. Of course the lead story at ABC is Barbaro. And I love the Barbaro story, I love Barbaro, I really do. But I think military operations in a country we have not been a part of since the Black Hawk Down debacle is more newsworth. But that's just me. And this is why newspapers are falling into the stoneages. They are so obviously, blantly biased and report only what supports their agenda.

Shame on them. And good job US military in your further attempts to keep Americans safe.
