A little LATE!!??!!
I'm not a big fan of the money that's being spent on changing our currency. Especially not the marketing budget ($33 million) for the $20 which was intended to teach people how to use their new currency. Um ... thanks Uncle Sam, but I think we can pretty much figure it out.
And now we have this piece of brilliance from a U.S. District Judge. Our money is not fair to the blind.
Now honestly, I had not thought of that. I do remember once, either on television or real life, I saw a blind person pulling bills out of their pockets (different pockets) that were folded funny. It was later explained to me it was so they could tell the difference.
I'm all for making our money easier to use for those that need to use it, including the blind. But um ... one question Uncle Sam ...
Could we not have thought about mentioning this factoid, oh I don't know, 6 years ago before the treasury wasted $4.2 billion on money that they now are going to have to do again? Appeal pending of course.
And they've started removing God.
What's 200 years and our founding fathers compared to a small group of anti-religious fanatics? Apparently nothing. We dance around and try really hard to protect the heritage of immigrants, of Hispanics, of Muslims ... oh sakes alive don't offend CAIR .... but nearly 80% of the popluation is Christian and believe in God and we're going to try and pretend like that's not part of what and who we are as a country.
The idea that America and American's don't have traditions and heritage is utter hodswollop.
I love Freedom of Religion. I love it. It's what made people want to come to this country. They were avoiding religious persecution. But what was the first thing that the Pilgrims did when they landed here? They prayed to God for their safety and their future.
Freedom of Religion does not mean that we have an abscence of religion. It just means that the Government isn't going to persecute you for what you believe.
The First Amendment says:
Where in there did you read that the Government was going to cow-tow to every whim of every person that was ever offended? Nearly 80% of the country believes in God. How many do you suppose are atheists? Well that number is so small they group it with Agnostics, and combined they make up 10%. Do we know what the term agnostics describes? People that are unsure about the existence of a Heavenly father. They doubt his existence ... they don't KNOW he doesn't exist. So really, as far as Atheists go, we're talking about less than 10% of the population.
One bad apple ruins the whole bunch?
This money thing ... it makes me sad. But it's not the end of the world. But it's a very, very sad and slippery slope. No more Pledge of Allegiance in schools ... well, where's my kid going to learn it if not in school? Well I'll teach her ... but that just means none of her friends will know it. Guess that's not important. Who cares about patriotism anyway? Or a sense of belonging to ones Country and homeland. That's something they do in Europe. We don't have that here. We're a melting pot, and that means we have no tradition, no central values, and no past. Definitely not any national pride or patriotism. That's just a word Reps like to throw around to make Dems look bad right? It doesn't mean anything.
I'm frustrated. No God on money ... Miracle on 34th Street won't make sense anymore. It'll be a relic, a collectors item. "Look honey, here's the part where they show that really old bill and it saves the day." Note: in the original with Maureen O'Hara, they claimed that the Federal Post Office delivers Santa Clause's mail to Kris, and therefore the Feds acknowledge his existence.
But to the beginning ... our government is ridiculously unorganized. If a company ran that way they'd be bankrupt, and someone (the guy who wasted $4.2 billion on money that had to be redone) would be fired. But it's a beauracracy ... he'll probably be promoted.
